You are missing from me.
I have this immense longing to wrap you up.
The way your voice sounds, especially when you’re sleepy.
Your backwards Raiders cap.
The way your eyes crinkle when you laugh.
The fact that you were chunky in middle school.
The fact that you never let yourself cry when the other kids made fun of you.
All of your dark recesses.
How you don’t think you’re strong but when I look at you I see all your might.
How much you love Disney World and Superman and anything else that replenishes our innocence.
I crave all of the things that make you up.
I’m in love with every last scrap of you.
Never did I want to fast forward through the present so that I may experience the future, not until my future became our future, and I knew I’d get to watch you drift off to sleep.
